Positioned for convenience . . . .

Aquarelle B&B is about 5 minutes drive south of the coastal village of Urunga, about 2 minutes drive from either of the surf beaches at Hungry Head or Wenonah Head.  Nambucca Heads township lies 10 minutes further to the South and Coffs Harbour with it's airport and regional centre facilities is 25 minutes North.

The environment . . . .

The location is ideal for those who love bird watching or bush walking. Even so, you'll find several of Australia's most magnificent beaches are at your fingertips, a few minutes down the road.

A short inland drive brings you to the artistic and cultural ambience of Bellingen, host to annual events like the Bellingen Jazz and Blues Festival, Global Music Festival and Stamping Ground.  Bellingen is also host to the bi-monthly Organic product market and the monthly Bellingen Markets.

A little further inland is the hamlet of Dorrigo, perched near the Eastern edge of the plateau and and the heart of an area encompassing the magnificent World Heritage areas of the Dorrigo National Park, Cathedral Rock National Park, New England National Park and many more.

Beaches abound . . . .

Beaches in the local area are generally safe and clean.  Schnapper Beach is the local haunt with access from Hungry Head or Wenonah Head.  Wenonah Head is the location where the local fishing club launch their tinnies for the (early) Sunday morning club activities.  Schnapper Beach and the ocean beach to the South are venues for all types of fishing, both being accessible to vehicles.  The southern beach goes all the way to Valla Beach and Nambucca Heads so there is ample room for that invigorating jog or just a quite stroll to commune with the Osprey, seagulls, terns and many others.

Meet the fresh air . . . .

Fresh air is what that holiday or vacations should be about.  The location of Aquarelle B&B in the Australian coastal bush environment, far from the city smog and close to the refreshing breezes of the Pacific Ocean, provides invigoration to the body and mind.

Urunga has an excellent board walk that starts at the town centre and traverses through the mangroves of the Urunga lagoon to a viewing platform right on the converged Bellinger/Kalang Rivers as they enter the sea.  Paths extend from the platform along the training walls all the way to the Pacific Ocean and another magnificent beach.

Relax with a coffee and cake . . . .

Urunga provides the necessities of life and its within 10 minutes drive of Aquarelle.  The township provides post office, supermarkets, butchers, bowling and golf clubs and several cafes for the morning or afternoon coffee.

For the all important dinner, Urunga has Anchor's Wharf family restaurant, as well as the ubiquitious bowling and golf clubs and the cafe in the Ocean View Hotel that all offer good quality value for money eating.

Alternative cafes and restaurants abound in Bellingen, Nambucca Heads, Mylestom and Coffs Harbour.  Check out the locals on the Cafes and Restaurants page.
